Consumer Price Index

January 19, 2012
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers was unchanged in December, as it was in November. The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.1 percent in December after increasing 0.2 percent in November. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)

Employment Cost Index

January 31, 2012
Wages and salaries for civilian workers rose 0.4% and benefit costs rose 0.6%, seasonally adjusted, from September to December 2011. Over the year, compensation rose 2.0%, wages and salaries 1.4%, and benefits 3.2%. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)

Employment Situation

February 03, 2012
Nonfarm payroll employment rose by 243,000 in January, and the unemployment rate decreased to 8.3 percent. Job growth was widespread, with large gains in professional and business services, leisure and hospitality, and manufacturing. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)

Producer Price Index

January 18, 2012
The Producer Price Index for finished goods declined 0.1 percent in December. Prices for finished goods moved up 0.3 percent in November and fell 0.3 percent in October. The index for finished goods less foods and energy increased 0.3 percent. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)

Productivity and Costs

February 02, 2012
Productivity rose 0.7 percent in the nonfarm business sector in the fourth quarter 2011; unit labor costs increased 1.2 percent (seasonally adjusted annual rates). In manufacturing, productivity declined 0.4 percent and unit labor costs increased 1.6 percent. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)

Real Earnings

January 19, 2012
Real average hourly earnings rose 0.2 percent from November to December, seasonally adjusted. Average hourly earnings rose 0.2 percent, while the CPI-U remained unchanged. Real average weekly earnings rose 0.5 percent over the month. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)

U.S. Import and Export Price Indexes

January 13, 2012
U.S. import prices edged down 0.1 percent in December, after rising 0.8 percent the previous month. Declining prices for fuels more than offset a 0.1 percent rise in nonfuel prices. Export prices decreased in December, falling 0.5 percent following a 0.1 percent advance in November. Full text: (HTML) (PDF)
