How to View PDF Files

PDF (Portable Document Format) files can be viewed with free PDF readers such as the Adobe Reader. If you do not already have this viewer installed on your computer, you may obtain it at no cost from the Adobe Reader webpage. Other free PDF readers can be found by searching the Internet.

PDF files on the Bureau of Labor Statistics website are best viewed with Adobe Reader 5.0 or higher. If you do not have a reader 5.0 or higher, you may have trouble viewing or printing PDF files that are on the BLS site.

Adobe provides information about making PDFs accessible for people with disabilities who use assistive technology (such as screen reading devices). Please see the Adobe Accessibility webpage for more information.

Note to users of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and higher: These versions have a default feature called "create links from URLs" or "automatically detect URLs from text." PDF files on the BLS website are best viewed with this feature turned off. Otherwise, certain URL addresses in PDFs on this site may appear to be "clickable" even though this was not intended. On occasion, clickable links have been inserted into PDFs that are on this site, but in most cases, URL addresses in PDFs on the BLS website are not meant to be live links. Links to websites operated by organizations other than BLS are subject to the general disclaimer and do not constitute an endorsement of any views expressed or products or services offered on these websites.
