The unemployment rate (4.9 percent) was essentially unchanged in January.
The unemployment rate for teenagers (18.0 percent) was higher than that of other age groups.
Over the month, the unemployment rates for all major worker groups—adult men, adult women, whites, blacks, and Hispanics—showed little or no change.
