From June 2012 to June 2013, compensation costs for private industry workers increased 1.9 percent. (These costs include both wages and salaries and employers' costs for benefits.) For the 12-month period ending in June 2012, the increase was 1.8 percent. From June 2012 to June 2013, wages and salaries and employers' costs for benefits both increased 1.9 percent.

Among occupational groups, compensation cost increases for private industry workers for the 12-month period ending June 2013 ranged from 1.6 percent for service occupations to 2.0 percent for management, professional, and related occupations.
Among private industries, compensation cost increases from June 2012 to June 2013 ranged from 0.8 percent for leisure and hospitality to 2.5 percent for other services, except public administration.
