The Producer Price Index (PPI) program measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. The prices included in the PPI are from the first commercial transaction for many products and some services.

The Producer Price Index for finished goods fell 0.2 percent in April. Prices for finished goods
were unchanged in March and increased 0.4 percent in February. The index for finished goods
less foods and energy rose 0.2 percent.
